e92 suspension replace/upgrade recommendations
Hi forums.
I may need to replace my suspension. I hear the M3 components are the better option (aluminum and more robust). Should I go with that or consider other options? Any help is appreciated. ------------------- Also I couldn't seem to find the M3 component for the shocks? Are they the same? Recommendations? |

Good looks on M3 components for sure! Are you just doing control arms or are looking to really get in there and make it new?
I have an XI so I can't use M3 comps on the front but I'm getting the ECS Tuning full suspension refresh (stage 3 HD and M3 components where capable) and pairing it with a set of ST Coilovers (I'm in NM and it's a summer car so I'm not worried about rust or I'd go KW instead) |

My car is already pretty low to the ground. I wonder if the previous owner had it lowered already. Or, if its the stock package. Not sure. I'm taking the car to a shop on Tuesday for a consult. The steering wheel is shaking and beginning to turn to the right. Tire threads look even. I was recommended not to do an alignment until the car's suspension is solid. An alignment is the last step. Will delay wheel balance as well until after the suspension clears out Last edited by soulcrusher; 10-17-2020 at 01:14 PM.. |

Not trying to spend too much money at the moment. But coilovers sound awesome! The steering wheel has been shaking recently and pulling to the right. I have a shop appointment on Tuesday to properly inspect the car (I can only go so far using forums, videos, and INPA.). The tire threads look even. So far the upgrades I've done are delphi coils and index 12's. The car came with aftermarket wheels/rims, HID headlights. I don't see any other mods (stock intercooler, charge pipe, intake.) Maintenance diy done- OFH, oil pan gasket, fluids (except rear differential and transmission, im at 104k miles, bought at 100k) Turbo wastegate is rattling, mild, intermittent. I have Solowerks S1 coilovers and i love them. They are the same as KW v1 coilovers but for half the price. I do 80% highway driving and they are nice and comfy. Have taken it to twisty mountain roads as well and handles nicely. Havent gotten an alignment since installing them though. Getting one done soon
