Coilovers
Hi! My BC racing coilovers came in and i was wondering if anyone else has used the BR series and how long it took to install them. I've heard it take 3-4 hours or 7-8 hours. My two stock rear shocks are blown so i have a feeling they will be more difficult to get out. Any tips on removing stock suspension and putting in the coilovers?

My only advice is to not set a time limit. Give yourself a full day or even better a full weekend and don't stress over it. It isn't a very difficult job but can cause stress if you run into a seized bolt or rust.

I would start doing them on a Friday lol. I recall last time I went to garage yourself a place down here where you can rent a lift, the guy on the lift next to me had been there two full days paying hourly changing his coilovers back to stock suspension on his m235i. Probably would have been cheaper for him to just sell them with the car
You never know if you'll have to deal with stuck shit. Get some proper balljoint separator tools like this and pop everything out the knuckle then it's a piece of cake to remove the knuckle off the shocks and put the new ones on, that's the front, the rear is even easier. |
