I think the PCV is usually more like a whistle. But if you're throwing that code...

Also check your belt/pulleys. Could be the tensioner needs to be replaced (or one of your pulleys are dying). Little hard to tell since its listening over video.

Garage List
Sounds like a belt or pulley to me...but that’s based on other cars I’ve owned. Never had that noise with my bimmer...

remove drive belt, start engine.
eleiminate belt driven accessory as possibility.

then open the hood and use a stethoscope to identify the culprit.

I have the same noise. Mine goes away when I open the oil fill cap. So I thought it's the PCV valve and replaced it. The noise didn't go away.

Belt and pulleys replaced too.

Did you have to replace the entire cover to take care of the PCV valve or grind it out as per the "PCV Valve of doom" thread here?

I would just replace the whole cover.

the uro one has been fine in my junk for 30K miles and was less than $200 IIRC.

in my experience trying to glue plastics together in a place exposed to oil and heat never really works well.

I didn't replace the whole cover, just the PCV. Maybe my next move will be to replace the whole cover.

I also suspect my main seal gasket is blown and sucking air from there. I might be also talking nonsense.
