Short work commute/cold engine

My commute with my e90 is 1.4 miles from my home to work. It is legit a left turn and a right turn into a street. I have been doing it for a month now and Im wondering if this type of commute isnt ideal for the longevity of the engine. I just walked to work today and got here pretty fast. Is it better to walk this commute than shut off my engine barely even warmed up?

Yes, walk to work and on weekends give it some hard runs at the Crest hwy or Little Tujunga road or whatever canyons you got nearby (I assume you are in LA area)

It's not really ideal to consistently do that. I'd ride a bicycle, probably wouldn't take much longer and the weather should be nice for it for the next several months before it gets too warm.

Gmr is nice, hwy 33 is what I liked a lot doing on my bike. A loop involving 33, 58 and pch back to LA is great, especially the hwy 58 part

Now that isn't either of the jobs you questioned us about a while back. What are you doing for them?
