iPhone 3G and early iDrive - FIXED!
I have a 2006 330d with prof nav and BT and have had no joy getting contacts on my iPhone 3G to sync with iDrive - until now.
http://blog.scoopz.com/2008/07/11/ip.../#comment-7630 Following the method in the post above, I added 2000 z contacts to my iphone via importing a .pst file into Outlookfrom the link above, syncing with iTunes and hey presto - when I took it out to the car all my contacts appeared (after about 3-4 minutes). Very happy. Not very happy with BMW who have still not sorted this and have only fobbed me off saying I'll have to pay for an upgrade and "technology has moved on" etc. Load of rubbish - just a pants interface compatability or timeout problem that obviously having a lot of contacts solves. |

Tried this yesteday. Managed to get the 2000 z contacts into the iphone and repaired via BT with the car but same probelm. Still looses the bluetooth connection every 20 or 30 seconds with the "Activate your mobile phone" message.
