Spark Plugs for bm3 stage 1 93
Hey guys,
I'm completely new to tuning and am going to be undertaking this operation by myself. I have indeed searched the forums regarding going one step colder vs staying stock. The problem for me is I'm not entirely sure I'll hit the 75-100hp rule of thumb for going one step colder. I currently have the AWE touring axle back with the non resonated midpipe. I am planning to add a vsrf FMIC, along with the VSRF charge pipes and going stage 1 93 octane maps for my 2015 335 xi. I am hesitant to go one step colder because I have also heard it could be more detrimental than helpful if I do not meet the rule of thumb for the hp gains. Would you guys recommend keeping the stock plugs or going one step colder for this setup? Thanks for the help. |

Stock plugs stock gap unless you have problems. Plenty of people run this even with stage 2/2+, pump gas and Exx mixes, myself included. Some people even run them with meth+PS2.
Just read my posts here for changing plugs: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1709198 |

Ya stock plugs would be just fine ran stock plugs on stage 2 with no problem although I did upgrade to NGK plugs with a .022 gap as bm3 recommends. Didn't have a reason to other then just for regular maintenance. Honestly wouldn't be a bad idea just to do it whenever you need to change them just so you never run into any spark blow out problems.
