Which of these cars appeals the most to you?
I was curious as to how many people would prefer to go the stock, light mod or heavy modification route. The cars on this list display each pretty well with all being cars aimed at performance. Which one would you go with any why. Here are the players:
1993-1998 Toyota Supra BPU (Basic performance upgrade) 100,000+ miles $20-25,000: 1995-1998 Nissan 240sx SR20det/RB25det/RB26dett Swap $14-24,000: 1993-1995 Mazda RX-7 5.7L LS1 Swap $20-30,000: 1999-2003 Chevrolet Corvette FRC (Fixed roof coupe) Bolt ons: $18-25,000: 1995-1999 BMW M3 low miles, tip top condition with bolt ons + suspension $15-20,000: 2003-2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII bolt ons $18-24,000: 2004-2005 Subaru WRX/STi bolt ons $18-24,000: 2001-2002 E46 M3 stock: $21-25,000 2004 VW R32 stock $23-25,000: |

I vote for STi. Had one and it was a blast! 3 grand will make it into a 500WHP car!

I might be off, been a few years since I've been in the STi crowd. Maybe I was thinking of COBB Stage 2 FMIC, DP, TBE.

Goodluck finding a STI, EVO, RX7, or Supra that werent beaten and abused to near death.
E36 M3s can be found in good condition owned by older people who didnt abuse them. So can vettes.

A Supra was a $40,000 car new and never had a rock bottom pricing in there life. It is also known to be one of the, if not THE most reliable of potent sports cars considering there are ones with over 200,000 miles on them single turbo'd and making 500-1000hp. I would in fact trust a 100,000+ mile Supra to give me less problems than anything German for that matter. And I also don't think you realize how reliable and strong an LS1 RX-7 is... or that plenty of people beat there M's to death as well. A car driven hard and taken care of is more often than not a better car to go with then a low mileage garage queen.

I'd do an EVO over STi anyday.
The main battle I had was EVO vs M3. Sure the M3 is faster in a straightline, but for modification the EVO would prove much more enjoyable If I plan to keep it stock it would be E46 M3 all the way. |

For a performance car?
The LS1 RX7 blows away everything else on that list in terms of overall performance, and driving fun. If we're talking DD STi or one of the M3s. Pick the M3 based on wether you prefer handling, or prefer power.
