What are the best anti-rust rotors for an F32

I know there are zinc coated ones, but I was wondering if anyone had good suggestions that will last a long time? (preferably slotted rotors)

Thanks

Stoptech make front 370 mm Aerorotors (vented, directional, 2-piece floating) for F3x with an optional zinc coating. They're not cheap though.

Someone else with more knowledge of F3x brakes can probably provide some other options.

I got Raybestos Element 3, dirt cheap from Rock Auto. Not slotted, but mine is a daily driver, where slotted only reduces stopping power.

Slotted also wears the pads more as well but look cooler lol

Any rust on the ones you got? Also how long have you had them?

Thanks

I don't know why BMW doesn't rust protect their rotors. Seems crazy to see a new $60k car on a dealer lot with rusty rotor hats!

Zimmermann are high quality German made rotors that are essentially duplicates of BMW stock rotors but they have a zinc coating.

It's the rotor hats that get rusty and really look bad. When I was painting my brake calipers, I also painted the sides of my rotor hats with G2USA Caliper Paint in Silver. It's a two-part epoxy like paint that brushes on right on the car. Stuff is like iron and looks freshly painted two years later. See attached photo.

Do not paint the top surface of your rotor hat where the surface meets the wheel mating surface. Putting a coating of any material there can screw up your wheel bolt torque.

I'm at two years with the Raybestos rotors, no rust, not even in the vanes, where it's more than a cosmetic issue.

I only changed my front rotors, to these: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...309701&jsn=487

You'd need to get the right ones for your model, which may not be the same as for my 328iX GT. I use caliper paint on the rear rotor hubs to keep them rust free.

Centric high carbon or stoptechs are all I use. Never had an issue with rust they are coated black and hold up well.
