Non-RFT choices - narrowed it down to 3.. ?
So, now I've narrowed down my choice of replacement non-RFT tyre to 3 I'm hoping you guys who've already chnaged to non-RFTs will be abelt o give me some insight into my choices.
I've always taken a keen interst in my tyres and know what I'm looking for. On my previous car (4Mo Golf) I ran Rosso for almost 2 years and found them great right until they got down to about 2.5mm. I then switched to F1 Asym but only ran them for 2 months in the summer (still pretty wet) until I bought the BMW, so didn't get to really test them. Now that was variable 4WD, which is quite different to RWD so while I know what I want in a short, 4WD car (had 2 4MOs and a real Quattro (old 80)) I can't really take that experience with me to rear wheel drive.... whats works for one doesn't necessarily mean it will work for the other. So, my choices badsed on price and experience are Falken 452s Goodyaer F1 Asyms V. Sportrac Sessenta So, fire away with your comments, experience and the like I'm all ears! Thanks

Thanks, I've heard OK things are the PS2 ZP, buts I'm keen on getting a non-RFT tyre on the car. Raed so many bad things about RFTs and not just BMWs.

I've looked at the major contenders and decided to go with the Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas - no personal experience of them yet but others who have used them seem to like them and I'm sure they will make the carshandling more sure footed and give a better ride than the RFT's, which are pants. I swapped out the awful Bridgestone RFTs for normal PS2 non-RFTs about a year ago. The ride and grip is much better, no horrible skipping and no bone-shaking crashing when hitting potholes or ridges in the road. Normal tyres soak up a lot of the impact, RFTs pass it all on to the wheels and suspension. I'm coming up to 15,500 miles on the PS2s and I still have 3mm on the rear, plenty more on the fronts. I might have tried the PS2 ZPs, but I just couldn't get any.
