My Dad had an AMC Eagle. He loved it!

I think its funny how people hated them in the 80s, but now everyone is obsessed with AWD Subaru wagons...
I had one as my first daily car, but my second car I purchased. That thing went through anything. I took it mudding, raced down trails, jumped it off road approaches plenty of times, flooded it once in a huge hole on a trail and had to go get my dad at 3am to pull me out. And it kicked pretty much everything elses ass on snowy highways. Only thing that slowed it down was a bad wheel bearing. |

Think of it as the hot wagon of the 80's, Audi had not begun to make an RS yet. BMW never sent us a 3 series Touring. There are a bunch of diehards of these in New England and one just sold on BAT for Bat Shit crazy money.

I was in negotiations to buy one in high school from someone connected with the school. I was probably 17 at the time and looking to buy a winter car to keep my IROC-Z pristine. I want to say she needed $2k and I could only come up with $1800.Nice car, very clean, had about 60k miles iirc.

My Dad had the two-door hatchback version and he loved it as well. It looked like a sneaker so that's what we called it.
