I had no idea how much hp could be generated in these cars for very little money and time at time of purchase. Lucked out and haven't looked back! JB4, catless, intercooler, charge pipe, dual intake, intake valve cleaning, 30% E85. |

Yes, I was aware but they've developed a lot further since.
I wanted a B5 S4 as my first car but the reliability scared me off as I was in high school and didn't have a lot of money. My first car was an e46 330Ci. I fell in love with the 335i when my friend's grandma, then another friend's dad bought one. A few years later, once it was established that the e9x was just as maintenance-heavy as a B5 S4, I bought my very own one-owner Dinan stage 2 335i for $6k with a clean title and minor front end damage. I'd seen it being sold on consignment at a local top notch body shop and stopped in to inquire. Bought it on the spot. To this day, that's the best car I've ever owned and I wish I'd never sold it. Didn't take me long to get back in another 335i. I could afford to switch platforms to something like an f80 if I wanted to but in addition to not being able to justify the cost, I just really like the n54 engine and e9x platform. I don't see myself leaving for a long time. Absolutely incredible cars if you're prepared to deal with their intense personalities lol |
