Removal Air bag steering wheel / Paddle shifters

Hey guys,

I have a 330i (not m sport or 340i) and I can not find anywhere online how or where to put the flathead screw to hit the springs and remove the airbag. I’m trying to install new paddle shifters. I can’t find where to poke into the leather? Anyone please help lol

I believe there are two round dimples on the back that needs to be poked? I can check mine later today and see.

You are correct. If the OP looks closely using the light on his phone he should be able to see the pressure points. Failing that they can just about be felt with your finger tips, at least mine can.

I was able to find the dimples and I successfully put on the paddle shifters, but unfortunately they don’t work and I have no idea why so tomorrow I have to take the airbag out again and find out why

Any tips?

Hmm. Did you reinstall the old ones, did they work and if not did you lose the springs located in the paddle mech?

I didn’t loose the springs, I have no idea why it isn’t working. I’m gonna try to reinstall it again and if it doesn’t work I’m going back to OEM Old ones

The paddles are honestly just pieces of metal, so either it was installed a bit offset (no idea how this is even possible) and it isn't triggering the actual buttons(this should be obvious by feel something is wrong), or the connection is loose(not connected), you broke something, or the coding of the paddles somehow fucked up

Fixed

I ordered the IOGON paddle shifters from Ali express and they didn’t come with the plastic backing so it didn’t fit... but I put the OEM back and they fit perfectly bc of the plastic backing

There's a second battery if I'm not mistaken. One in the front and one in the rear
