I see oil in this area on the valve cover and a slight shimmer in some areas. Is this from bad top up or is my oil cap leaking? It is the original one from 2006. The oil is very thick when i wiped it off. Also one of my coils had the clip slightly out. I clipped it back in and it looks normal now but do they get loose by itself?

Likely from someone spilling while topping it off/filling. Wipe it up and see if it comes back.

I think that could be the oil cap. Mine can sometimes get the same and it's grimy around the oil cap.

Replace the cap. I replaced mine today for this exact issue.

Get the newer design with the round cap. I paid $34 at my local dealer.

I replaced the gasket but still had the seepage on the 2007. I do need to re-seal the oil pan gasket (just needing to find the time), and probably are losing vacuum as a result of that, leading to the oil seepage at the cap.

Can the oil ever reach to the coil packs and important parts? There is like some holes or passages on the valve cover that it goes down to.
