Transmission problem
Hello, I need a little help with Bmw 2006 Bmw 325xi e90. I recently had a mechanic break one of my pins on my transmission conductor plate attached to my valve body and he had to replaced that part with a used one. My car jerks when sitting still when I try to put it into reverse or drive. I asked him did he program that used part to my car and he stated it’s plug and play. I would like to know how to check to see if my vin of my car is associated with my car or if it’s reading the used parts vin that was put in my car. I have inpa but really need help to figure how to do this. Can someone tell me if it is plug and play and will my vin number be correct without programming.

Did you car have this issue prior to bringing it in? If not, then absolutely take it back and tell him to fix it. I don’t know whether that part is PnP, but I’m guessing it is.
What were you having done to your car when you brought it in originally?

Not sure what "conductor plate" he replaced... the Mechatronics assembly includes the valve body and the electronics, and is not "plug-n- play". The adaptations must be re-learned.
That said, there are other things he could have messed up while he was in there, and are you certain he replaced the internal seals while the valve body was out? |

Hello, the conductor plate is the black part attached to the valve body. Yes, he changed the bridge seal and the sleeves. What I’m asking is when changing the brain with a used one how do you tell what vin number is in you’re car using inpa or any other program. I want to see if my ecu matches my vin for my transmission.

INPA can scan your modules and tell you what vin is associated with each one. But I don't think that is your issue. Did he reset the adaptions when he replaced the mechatronics ECU? At a minimum, that is required. Did he change the solenoids in the valve body?

Thanks for the answers, but can someone tell me with inpa how do I scan my modules to tell what vin is associated with my transmission. I will reset my adaptations, also.

As others have stated, what IS important is Resetting Adaptation Values (assuming any repairs were done properly). I have an earlier version of INPA that can do that in INPA > EGS < F6 Activations > F2 "Lernfunktionen". CAUTION: that is for GM GS1912 Transmission Module on my 328xi with GM6 AT. I have NO IDEA what your version of INPA allows on GS19 ZF AT. BimmerGeeks version of INPA does NOT have that "F6 > F2" Adaptation Reset available as a Menu Option. So if ALL Else fails, there's ISTA, which is a tougher "Download & Install", but well worth it with all the documents available if you take the time to install. In ISTA, you select "EGS" from the ECU List, then select ECU Functions, then select Trigger to see menu of various things you can "Reset". Hope you get it sorted. Please let us know what you find. Hello, thanks for the help. I reset adaptations and the car doesn’t jerk going into reverse or drive anymore.
