Help With Pre-LCI AHL Adjuster Problem

I have a pre-LCI AHL headlight assembly (Left-hand side) with one of the manual adjusters out of the socket, and so far no matter what I've tried, I CANNOT get it to pop into place!

The first pic shows what I'm talking about.

The second one shows the area where it's located, and the arrow points to the adjuster screw.

ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated, because if I can't get this back in place,t he headlight is unusable...

Thanks in advance.

Cheers!

Can you maybe use one of these to reach it?

For a pre-LCI, the exact procedure may be different, but I had the same issue with my LCI.

Try seeing if the entire mechanism with the light itself will move into position. You’ll need two people, but then try popping the adjuster into place. You’ll need to angle it down, into the housing. Once again, though, this for an LCI, so I’m not sure if it’s the same process.

The adjuster is fixed inside the housing. The whole interior part where the bulbs, etc attach, does move, but I can't figure out how to get it to pop into that socket. I've tried prying, using a hook, etc... nothing gets it to seat into the socket...

On the other one, I had to re-seat the automatic leveling servo. That was pretty easy, actually, and I wish that's all I had to do for this.

I'm starting to wonder if the socket is broken/worn out...

Anyone know of a way to transfer the guts from one headlight assembly to another? I have my original AHLs, with severely yellowed lenses, which was the reason for buying these ones, which have pristine lenses...

Cheers!

I think it'd be a lot easier to swap the lenses, people do it all the time

That's actually what I've been hoping to avoid... and why I dropped the coin for these assemblies, when except for the lenses, my original AHLs are perfectly fine.

I'm not confident in getting a perfect seal, or not wrecking the headlight when removing the lens.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Cheers!
