Hey all.

I did it. After promising myself that I wouldnt mod this car at all like I used to do to my cars, I've bought some exterior mods for the car.

Gone for a gloss black splitter, boot lid spoiler, gloss black diffuser and finally gloss black grilles.

It's an aftermarket set. Just curious on what you guys think on the fitment. Seems ok all the way around except for the inner vertical section. Gap is bigger it seems.

Is this normal for an aftermarket set ? Or is this a very bad fitment mould?

Appreciate the feedback.

Looks OK, but while you had them off you should have added additional protection for the radiator, as that grille won't even stop a golf ball, let alone a smaller stone. Have a look at this thread: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...8&postcount=64

So you think the fitment is ok? Even with that gap between the grille and the body?

I guess if most aftermarket ones are the same I'll stick with it

Point then regarding the gap. Is there actually a product to protect the rad?

I have the same impression from my aftermarket grille - it seems to be a slightly smaller molding around the outside what makes the grille look like it's sitting further inside the bumper - only noticeable when you are a F30 pro :-)

Do a search for plastic mesh, I can't say where sources are on your side of the pond. Secure it with plastic zip ties.

Ok cool.

If they all have the same issues being aftermarket, then I guess I'll Leave it.

Thought it was a one off bad mould and was going to order from others.

Does the bumper need to come off or could it be done during grille install?

The bumper doesn't need to come off, with the grilles removed you can work through those openings.

Just remove upper bolts and you're good to go. I have removed my bumper couple days ago and it's not a big deal.
