BMW trademarked "50 JAHRE BMW M", "Evo Sport", "Evo Track" + updated Motorsport logo
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Bimmerpost reported in the past the finding on the public WIPO website (World Intellectual Property Organization) that BMW had filed for trademark protection for "M1 CS" and "M1 CSL" through "M8 CS" and "M8 CSL" in 2016 and 2017 (see here). A recent look at the WIPO Global Brand Database (easy to use and free of charge) reveals that in May 2021 BMW has filed for trademark protection for "50 JAHRE BMW M", "Evo Sport" and "Evo Track", as well as for an updated 1973 BMW Motorsport logo: 50 JAHRE BMW M | German Trademark | Figurative and word mark. Application filed on May 19, 2021 | Sources: here, here and here. Bimmerpost comment: in 2022 BMW M will celebrate its 50 years as "50 JAHRE BMW M". Undoubtedly this new logo will be used for the events. As reported in March 2021 by forum member ynguldyn in his future BMW model info thread, it appears that BMW is planning to have designs celebrating 50 years of BMW M for multiple models with production dates between March 2022 and March 2023. Updated 1973 BMW Motorsport logo | German Trademark | Figurative and word mark. Application filed on May 19, 2021 | Sources: here, here and here. Bimmerpost comment: the BMW M logo looks like a very mild update of the 1973 BMW Motorsport logo (original: see here and here; evolution: see here, here and here). Trivia: some may also remember that the original logo featured on the cool BMW Motorsport jacket sported by former BMW M boss Dr. Kay Segler in 2010 when teasing the BMW 1M (see here) and earlier when giving a presentation about the M5 (see here) (similar jacket: see here). Evo Sport | German Trademark | Word mark. Application filed on May 7, 2021 | Sources: here and here. Bimmerpost comment: "Evo Sport" seems to be new, unlike "Sport Evo". About the BMW E30 M3 Sport Evolution (600 cars made during late 1989 and early 1990 - it was the most extensively modified of the three BMW E30 M3 Evolution editions): see for example here, here, here and here. The future will tell whether BMW M has plans with "Evo Sport" (instead of "Sport Evo") and "Evo Track" (instead of "Track Evo") or whether the trademarking is merely an initiative to avoid competitors using/trademarking those words as new brands (thus serving brand protection purposes only). FWIW, forum member Bimmercs pointed out the following announcement by BMW M Motorsport: "The BMW M4 GT4 is getting an Evo package in 2021. The upgrade, which incorporated BMW M Motorsport expertise and customer feedback, will make the BMW M4 GT4 even more competitive as well as more cost-effective going forward." (source: here). Evo Track | German Trademark | Word mark. Application filed on May 7, 2021 | Sources: here and here. Bimmerpost comment: "Evo Track" seems to be new. As far as we know no "BMW M Evo Track" or "BMW M Track Evo" car, car feature or app was ever released so far. Kudos to forum member BMWGirlFL for the heads-up.

That's a lot of copy/paste info I don't really understand but I do know I love the new logo.

The updated Motorsport Roundel looks the business.
Kind of surprising it took this long for them to revive it but perhaps there's no better occasion for its revival than M GmbH's Golden Jubilee. The Motorsport Roundel, if properly implemented, would look great paired with a nice clean steering wheel and M style wheels. As mentioned above, since the 60th Anniversary will most certainly be all-electric, let's hope that M's 50th Anniversary in 2022 will see a celebration & proper send-off of the kind of stuff that built the brand (i.e., internal combustion).

I'm interested in what this Ultimate Driving Museum in the US might be as well. Perhaps just another name for [space], or something they needed for a publication in the US about the Welt, but I'd like to see something on the east coast...

@Artemis
It seems that Evo Sport & Evo Track might be offered as packages. https://www.bmw-motorsport.com/en/to...mw-m4-gt4.html

Fully agree: excellent decision by BMW M.
Added to the first post of this thread: combo "50 JAHRE BMW M" + updated BMW Motorsport roundel: Vintage tales: Now let them re-issue that hard-to-find BMW Motorsport jacket with the updated BMW Motorsport roundel. Compare with the "BMW Motorsport Heritage Leather Jacket" (also featuring the BMW Motorsport roundel): here, here and here presented by BMW in this 2017 press release.
