Weird Rev Match Issues

Hi All. I have been having some weird issues with the rev matching function as I work through getting my tune smooth with my tuner remotely.

The issue isn't necessarily new but was not as bad in the past but seems worst as of late is that rev matching feels slow while it used to feel super quick, on up shifts especially at full or heavy throttle. See video. Clutch in to shift and shift into next gear, takes its time and then finally revs jump to where they need to go… obviously waiting to release the clutch until the revs are ready. Super weird delay.

We did check for a boost leak found none and even removed the DV+ that I had installed to remove the helper spring because I heard it could cause similar issues. No improvement.

And with one of the last new flashes I lost the pop that I am used to hearing when letting off heavy throttle and now only get some flutter like I used to hear in comfort mode for example. Very weird stuff but any insight would be appreciated.

Scan for codes. if no codes, then do a gear position learn test plan using ISTA. If still having issues, then your tuner needs to make sure they did not modify anything that they shouldn't have.

Flash back to stock and test. If no issue on stock tune get a new tuner.

A couple of notes to add here. logs say boost is not making it to target. This would lead us to think boost leak or DV issue but since those were checked... also wastegate duty cycle is maxed out and still, we are not reaching target boost. I am thinking it could be an issue on the wastegate possibly?

Any of these could be related to the rev-match issue I think because the car is not able to accurately get to the boost level it is looking for.

The tuner is well known and knows what he is doing so I doubt this is some issue or messing with things outside the regular scope. I think there is some sort of physical issue somewhere, wastegate, DV issue, etc. Now just have to track it down.

Any other input is appreciated.

Unfortunately can't do this because I have an upgraded fuel pump so stock won't work right now.

What makes you think you have a boost leak? Your car is making boost just fine, if you're not making boost at the top end, it usually means you have an airflow problem or the turbo is out of steam. Is this a Pure stage 1, or even stock turbo? Have you checked the compressor or turbine for FOD?

None of those would be related to the rev-match issue. You know with BM3 you can flash stock tune and just check the options on the HPFP right?

Yeah I may have to do that.

Stock turbo could be running out of steam but it was making closer to target before without issue. Something had changed. The fact that it's not reaching target is what is making us think there's some sort of leak in the system.

You can turn on the hpfp option in the stock map in the tuning options.

Wasn't sure if you could. I'll try that this coming week. Off to road Atlanta today for a track day tomorrow!

In the same weather conditions?

A bit colder and a bit hotter. It's Florida so there isn't a ton of variance.
