You can finally "build" a 2022 M5 on BMW's site.

No "accessories" tab, though, and still no 2022 M5 options on the shopbmwusa.com site (M Performance).

Yes, Funny I ordered a 2022 M5 Competition before the BMW website made these changes.

I'd have pushed myself to, but with the accessories in limbo and lack of discounts, I'm holding off. Probably be a few months for me, at least. I wonder if we'll have any whispers of 50th anniversary release by then.

I am still gutted by the lack of laser lights. Will take a while to get over it. I suspect it will only get worse when car arrives and we have to live with it. The most unfortunate part is that we will never get a real reason as to why....

Not a huge loss in my opinion since with our lovely antiquated headlight laws we don't get all of the cool anti-dazzle features that the laser lights are capable of. The laser lights in the US are mostly just a cosmetic upgrade with the blue accents.

True. I have the laser lights on my X and unless you code them, you dont get the full effect. However, the cosmetic aspect is undeniable. The euro LCI M5's look so much meaner from the front than the US version because of that blue bar on top in the laser light. I see my X next to one without lasers and its night and day. There are worse problems

We might get the cool blue strip, but on the other hand the eu lci m5 makes about as much noise as my coffe machine.

I put in my order before the 2022 configurator came online and when I track my vehicle online, it lists the pro spoiler and front splitters. Who knows what it will show up with, but just thought that odd.

I'm just confused as to what the issue could really be. Are there really *that* many changes between 21's and 22's that the accessories no longer fit? I'm betting it's more someone just hasn't updated a database record or is sitting on a change request... and there are so many obstacles between the commoners and BMW management they don't even know about it... nor do they care. I mean hell, Dukec's existence proves that. Can't blame a chip shortage on exhaust or carbon fiber components' lack of availability.

But anyway, I think this is the model year to get. I didn't want the CS for various reasons, but if that one had people clamoring to pay above MSRP, anything 50th anniversary, particularly being the last of the full ICE's, I feel is going to be nuts with demand, with MSRP being considered a discount.

I initially specced the base M5 with carbon fiber gills, rear spoiler & MPE. I was told will have to pay full price on lease for these items as they will be installed at the dealership most likely. So ended up ordering a Comp. kinda disappointed myself by not getting the MPE atleast.
