Annoying fasten seat belt sound

Hey everyone, I was wondering if there was any possible way to disable that annoying fasten your seat belt sound?

I understand its a safety feature, but sometimes I will have a passenger that takes a minute or two to get situated and that annoying sound keeps on going until our seat belts are fastened.

It also rings (only twice) if I insert the key and start the engine w/o fastening my seat belt...so I just remember to put my seat belt on before I start the car, but it can still be a bit of an annoyance.

I am not sure if this matters, but FYI, I do have NAV.

Thanks!

I think this must be an American thing. My UK spec 325 simply has a light on the dash when a seatbelt is unfastened. I can believe how annoying it would be though!

My dad's Ford Mondeo does exactly the same and it drives me daft!

You could probably locate the sounder unit and disconnect it, although that would stop all sounding! The only problem I can think of is if it would affect the PDC? But the sounds on mine seem to come from the rear, so is the boing coming from the front??

The only way to do it if find someone who has a BMW DAS service computer and attempt to shut it off. I don't think any dealership in the US would turn it off for you due to liability reasons.

Like nexus66 my UK spec 330i only has a light on the dash until everyone has buckled up. It only chimes once you've driven about 200 yds and a passenger is still unbuckled. I like this. A constant chime in the cockpit would drive me mad!

I have it too(EU 330i E90) and it really is annoying, yep!

But it makes you buckle up faster than you actually want to

A friend of mine(320d E90) has been to his dealer and it now is shut off.
