How to upgrade to multiple color ambient lighting?

My car came with the ambient lighting, but its just two dim colors. I've seen people upgrade with an idrive compatible multi-color ambient lighting... how can I do this? Is it only possible to do on cars that did NOT come with the ambient lighting?

What car and year of built exactly?
Only the new G-series are capable of multicolor ambient light, if you had ordered this separately.
All "classic" bimmers are stock equipped with 2 light colors, amber and white, thats it.
You could change the SMD LED's on your own, but it remains at 2 possible colors. All other mods with LED chains or other multicolor stuff isnt OEM.

Hey yeah, would be looking at aftermarket options. Just wasnt sure which product people have been using to achieve this

It’s hand built using an arduino and obviously changing all the leds for addressable rgbs.
Guy invented it and it is a very very slick concept.
