OEM exhaust with AWE midpipe. Bad idea?

Hey there this is my first time posting here and i could use some advice

I have a 2014 435i xdrive

So up until today my plan before the winter was getting a custom axleback done to pair up with the AWE midpipe that i have and the VRSF Catless that i already have installed

Things have changed and now i am unable to get the axleback done before winter and I'm thinking i would like to get the midpipe installed and pair it with the oem exhaust.

Is this a bad idea? I only find a couple videos around and nothing actually about the install. I take it it would involve cutting the oem and then welding the midpipe into it.

Am I going to run into problems in the future when i go to cut that and have the rest of the system installed due to welding dissimilar metals? (correct me if I'm wrong but I think they are dissimilar)

Any advice / input is greatly appreciated

included a pic just because

Yea, you would have to cut the muffler from the stock midpipe, but I would recommend using an exhaust clamp instead of welding it. They're usually no more than $20, and if you ever want to change something in the future you can just loosen the bolt and it comes undone.

The car is looking clean man
