MHD Stage 2+ first dyno results

After getting my boost leak issue sorted I decided to finally get the car on a dyno seen as I've never had any results before.

Running MHD's Stage 2+ with catless dp plus a bypass valve to cut out the resonator & muffler.

I'll have the print out shortly but they said on average it made 362 - 370 with a peak of 382bhp (612nm). It sounds like they were misting water on the last few pulls to get the peak power out of it and keep temps down. They also used a hub dyno.

I'm pretty happy providing it sits around 370, it does make me inquisitive as to what else I could install to help squeeze any remaining power though.

I'm still on the stock intercooler so a stepped one would probably be my next port of call.. would a personalised tune benefit me majorly anymore than the OTS map? I'm fully aware the N55's don't make much over 400.

if you're on a stock intercooler then once the iats start to climb you're likely losing 20 to 25 hp easy.

seriously, you shouldn't even be running that tune on stock ic.

a custom tune for 93 would likely not get you much power

I've always monitored them, luckily I live in the north of the UK so we average 7-10c most days in temperatures. It's not really often the car is pushed either but upgraded FMIC is on it's way 👍

great to hear! yeah, it may seem like its okay but after 1 pull your iats should be getting up there. just having consistent power will be huge, right now there zero chance that it's consistent.

You didnt mention what octane you are running but that seems about right nonetheless. Datalogs from the runs would have been nice. Sorry but i cringed when you said you are running that map with stock IC...

MHD is a load based tune so unless you aren't meeting boost or load targets, you are making the maximum power the map will make, although it is very possible your IATs were high enough to pull timing.

that's where I my head was, likely his iats were high enough to pull timing. no way they weren't if the car was on a dyno. impossible to not have crazy temps with stock ic on a stationary car with near useless airflow.

Yeah timing was definitely pulled, got the car back today as we've been diagnosing a horrific creaking/ticking sound from the front strut.

They were misting the IC with iced water to try and help it the best it could.

I'm starting the search again for a decent FMIC upgrade, my biggest draw back before was UK stock. Wagner & VRSF were never instock no matter what the store told you lol, MTC Motorsport sell some but I then learnt most of their stuff is rebranded copies which for the charge pipe I was fine with, but the IC I'm happy to spend money on for a better built one.

There's another thread where people just discussed options for IC in the UK. You could also check with XPH about international shipping costs.
