Having driven an iX3 this weekend one question I never asked was what is battery warranty and/or expected replacement period ?

In Romania the battery has the same warranty as the entire car. 2 years by default. I bought 5yrs extended warranty (2+3) for a little more than 2k euros.

In Denmark the warranty on the high-voltage battery is 8 years or 160.000km. AFAIK it's the same in most European countries.

In the Uk:

BMW i Battery Warranty.
The BMW i Warranty includes a BMW i Battery Warranty against failures of the high voltage battery as a result of manufacturing defects. In addition to the BMW i Three Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty, the high voltage battery is warranted for up to 8 years from the date of first registration, or up to 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first.


The bit that I cannot find is the percentage figure. For the i3, it is not below 70% of the usable battery capacity. Warranty work may just be the replacement of a small number of cells. That said, I have not heard of an owner that has ever needed it.
