2007 328XI broke front shaft, no cruise, 4x4 light on

I bought this a year ago and have been throwing money at it like a cheap hooker in a strip joint, anyway I broke a ujoint in the front shaft and limped it home. I ordered a new shaft stuck it in and now it takes about 10-15 seconds of driving until you hear some front end noise and it feels sluggish but then it acts normal but the 4x4 light comes on and stays on unitl you shut it off and it does it all over again. The 4x4 works because as soon as i crank it take off in gravel or dirt front and rear spins. The other thing that is crazy is I din't have my cruise control anymore. It may not work with that default code, I assume. The code is CC id 351 which sounds generic and not specific. Any ideas on how I can fix it without sinking another arm in it? Thanks!

Try turning the steering wheel lock to lock. If that doesn't work, it would be better to diagnose it with a code reader capable of reading BMW DTCs.

Tried that, looks like i'm going to have to sink some more money into it. There is nobody near me that works on these. Thanks for the suggestion.

You just need a means to look at the BMW diagnostic codes. Most DIYers use INPA or ISTA and an a K-DCAN cable to attach to their laptop. Without being able to read those, it'll just be guessing.
