Thanks for the video. Too bad it was such an overcast day. Kind of dulls the beautiful Thundernight paint.
I love the proportions of this car. This may be the first time I prefer a BMW without Shadowline trim. The regular M Sport looks better to me at least on Thundernight. I prefer the contrast trim on the grill and triangle style lower vents. |

No we can only speculate. Spy shots don't reveal the lights.

Nice vid of the outside & inside. I really like the interior a lot - looks clean, very modern & just nice. The gauge cluster is sharp, too! Glad to see that change - about time! (Didn't Chevy have digital gauges back in the mid-80's on that Beretta & I think the 'Vette, too?)
Not a fan of the over-styled front end (Pontiac called - they want their styling back), nor that HUGE rear end (to quote Niobe: "She's got a fat ass".) Headlights... meh. Headlights styled after the 4's sinister-looking headlights would have just been killer on that front face. I don't get these headlights at all. I like modern angles/lines & aggression, but this doesn't look like a right step in the modernization direction. It's dated to my eyes. No offense to those who like/love it.

I think it looks pretty good in the video. I really like the wider stance and flared wheel wells. one of my biggest complaints about my current m240i is how narrow it looks especially from the rear. the one thing I really dislike in the new one is those triangle intakes on the front. just don't understand why they are so massive and really take away from the looks of the front bumper imho.

Was on the fence with the exterior design up until now but geez it's looking very promising in the vid. Interior is a big win as is the wide stance, fender flares and bulge on the hood. Can't wait to see it in person. Might be making an early exit out of my current lease!

Must admit I don't love the large intake triangles. But overall the wider stance, the bulged hood and the flared fenders make this generation look a lot more aggressive. Rear of Car I am ok with, i know some are not.
And yes the lights are different plus the black underside but change happens as vehicle evolve and at least the G42 is not a clone of any BMW and has its own personality Last edited by yanks1; 09-09-2021 at 07:37 AM.. |
