European Delivery

Hello everyone,
This may be a repost, so if it is, sorry about that. It is a question for those who got their car using the European Delivery option.

I'm strongly considering getting the new E90 and from what I read here on the forums, some of you got yours using the ED option and supposedly you also saved some money doing so. I just wanted to ask how much money you actually save and how does it all work? Do you fly over to Germany where they wait for you at the factory where you pick you car up, drive it for some time, bring it back to them, you fly back home and they ship the car to your dealership? I'm not really sure how that all works. What about your drivers licence, do you need to get a new one there? Hotel and airfare arrangements?? Overall experience, was it worth it?

Thanks a lot for any help!!!

Hey welcome to the forum, did you check the European Delivery sticky at the top of the forum? - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=427

Plenty of information there, but yea what you said is generally right. You take delivery of your car in Munich, drive it for however long (up to however long you have insurance for), drop it off back at the factory or at one of the drop-off points, fly back here and wait for your car I'm not sure how license works or how tho.

Your state issued driver's license will be fine. If you want to be safe, you can get an international driving permit through AAA, costs $10.
