I am an obsessive researcher when new car shopping, when I learn something interesting I will post it.
I am most interested in a Canadian Spec 230i xDrive without M Sport styling package to avoid triangles and black side skirts. Be almost a year before the above is available. I hope BMW Canada allows some performance hardware options on non M Sport cars. BMW Germany has a cool option aligned with this (on the 220i), see below:

BMW Germany will also let customers add these as stand alone options without going M Sport, which I like:

hmmm... wonder why not in USA?? I have a 230i M Sports on order, would have liked to avoid the large front triangle vents & the black side rocker panels. But wanted all the other goodies in the M Sports Pkg so no choice

I think Packaging in North America is designed to reduce possible number of combinations (cost control), and to drive people to vehicles with a higher all-in cost (profit). Those plastic bits are dirt cheap and they charge a couple grand for them in an M Sport Package.

Noticed today re-watching one of the Goodwood videos that the side-skirt is "Black" on an M240i and "Grey" on a 220/230 with the M Sport package, I thought that was interesting.

Same here...230 on order, prefer the base look, but have to have the M Sport upgrades. I almost gave up on the M Sport due to looks, but performance prevailed. |
