Question E92 Transmission problem?

Hey guys. So in my last post I posted about the types of coils and spark plugs I should get because of my misfiring 6th cylinder. I did a tune up and my care was running smooth for a good week and a half. This morning, though, I woke up and got in my car to go to school and I was getting no power whenever I put my car in reverse. My friend let me borrow his scanner and no codes were coming up with that. I am completely lost here because it'll drive when it's in Drive and rev when it's in Neutral, but as soon as I put it in reverse, I get no torque whatsoever, almost as if there's something disconnected or the sensor is out. Has anyone ever experienced this same issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated since I am still fairly new to this world.

Thanks so much!

Gonzo

I would first check the trans oil level. My '07 335i with the ZF trans got "reluctant" to go into reverse. Adding a small amount of trans fluid, less than a pint, was enough to get it working properly. You MUST follow the correct procedure to get the correct level. There are TONS of videos and web pages explaining the correct procedure.

Does it even rev in R if you gas it a bit? Or were you saying the pedal does nothing at all?

FYI OP, the emphasis here is because that procedure requires topping off while the car is running, trans at operating temp, and then going through the gears, but all in a specific way

No. Trans oil at 30-50C, which is WELL below operating temp. If you fill it at operating temp, it WILL be under-filled.

Whoops you're right. I recalled running it for a minute or 2 until warmed up had thought that was operating temp, not just partially warm
