Anyone retrofit LCI cup holder to pre LCI car?

The LCI cup holder is a slide to reveal cup holder while the pre LCI holder is revealed after the top plate is removed.

Just curious if this is a simple plug and play replacement like the ac trim LCI? Or it involves more than that.

Do i just buy trim 13 and it’s done? Or something else? Or just buy the sliding door?

The LCI sliding cup holder retrofit isn't exactly a direct fit, since it involves trimming a few plastic tabs. Only part #13 is required. You can find out further details about what tabs to trim here

Ive done it in my 13" 335i. It's pretty straight forward. If I remember correctly, the slightly different location of the 12v socket requires you to create abit of clearance when offering up the LCI trim piece.

I just want to know who at BMW thought a removable top plate was a good idea. Damn thing just wastes space in my glove box all day long.

i saw this part on that famous auction site, is this something that can be bought separately instead of part 13 on the realoem OP?
