(Rims) Mismatch in catalog and reality for rims and tire sizes?
Hi all,
I've noticed that the catalog (sorry in German), that is found here: https://www.bmw.de/content/dam/bmw/m...6021636696.pdf Shows that for example the 792M rim, which is the default one for the M240i, shows that it would be:
However it has been already told by several people that several rims come in square configuration skinny 225 40 R19. So in the catalog are they saying the maximum tire size then can bring? And more importantly, even coming with all 4 wheels in 225, will rear rims will be 8.5J ? If it is 8.5J, I will replace my 225 --> 245 as soon as I get the car. (I know I could put a 245 in a 8' but i wouldn't feel truly safe for aggressive driving). So anyone can confirm if REAR rims are 8.5' even coming with the 225mm? ![]() Last edited by bmwloverm2; 11-15-2021 at 06:21 AM.. |

I had the same question and have been told that cars that come with 225 tires will have 8.0" wheels for all 4 unfortunately.

Not having squared configuration 225 would be great TBH. This care really deserves 255 REAR. Seems we will have to wait a bit to confirm, right? Right now almost everything comes from USA/Canada market since they started selling there first. |

I'm 99% sure we'll have only 255 rear
![]() In Europe all seasons tires are not very popular, in NA Bmw has always provided an all seasons setup (except for M-cars) with a reduced speed limit. ![]() |

Sticky Pricing Guide
I refer to the pricing guide attached to this forum, and provided by my dealer for info on available wheels (for North America). In that guide there is option Code 1VZ, Style 792 (not 792M) available that is 8.5 F/9.5R with 245/255 performance non rft. That is the wheel I'd go for if not ordering ZTK with the 1WO/893M wheel of the same size.
