Heavy Steering feeling

I've had my m240 for a couple weeks now and I still feel like I can't get comfortable.(seating position and steering wheel pos.) I've also noticed that the steering is heavy. "Not that there's anything wrong with that", but I'm curious how other 240 owners feel about these issues

ok, glad to hear its tighter now... I do not like lighter steering feel like some of the recent BMWs outside of the 2 Series. My 2018 230i had good steering feel also

I picked up my new 230i on Monday, having previously leased a 2016 ans 2019 230xi. Before that I leased a 128i. Moving from the 128 to the first 230 was a bit of an adjustment because of the change to electronic power steering.

The move to this 2022 car is a much bigger adjustment. I am finding that the steering, throttle, and brakes are much more sensitive to input than the previous 2 series. I find it requires attention to remain at given speed (without speeding up), that the steering input is greater (less input for a given amount of turn), and the brakes must be 'feathered' for the same stopping as I am accustomed. There's also the BMW size creep - each new iteration of a car grows at least 6 inches (for whatever reason).

I am also wondering of others' experience.

I test-drove a 2022 BMW M240i yesterday. I drove the car in all sport settings except the suspension, which I kept in comfort. The car had all season run flats. I’m currently driving a 2019 BMW 330i xdrive. I’m 6’. He drive was on suburban roads outside of Philadelphia, so not the best quality roads.

Compared to my 330i the 2022 M240i…

Steering is slightly tighter and slightly sharper
Ride quality seems a touch better
Driver’s position was very comfortable. Seats are very comfortable
One sits a little lower and more “nestled-in” but that a good thing
I just made a few seat adjustments and felt pretty good right away.
Breaks were easily controllably
Acceleration is of course brisk
I don’t see any problem using the car as a daily. It was pretty easy to drive right away and felt comfortable right away.

I loved it. As a matter of fact, I ordered one on the spot.

All my opinion of course. But I’ve been driving the 330i for three years and my last 5 cars have been sports sedans.

Bob
