Recommended roof bars & roof box for 320d Touring?
Hi all, first post on the forums, so hello all!!
I take delivery of a new 320d Touring in about a weeks time and was wondering if anyone could recommend a set of roof bars & a roof box to fit this vehicle? Also, best place to buy these from?? Have been considering the Thule Atlantis & Bars. 340L version. Many thanks.... |

Thule stuff is great. Not had any experience with roof racks but have used their bike racks which are without doubt the best around.
Just got rid of my 3-series tourer and have the bits I no longer need on Ebay if you're interested.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=tab%3DSelling On top of these, you'll need some bars, Aero ones are good. Cheapest I found were on www.roofrackshop.com Thule stuff is quality kit! |

I recently took advantage of the offer here for a karrite 320 roofbox and roofbars for £130.
http://www.roofbox.co.uk/summer.html This is outstanding value for money, and fitted on a 330d was pretty quiet at fast motorway speeds. gabble |

Depends how often you are going to use it, but my local stealer was offering roof box hire for £40 per week, which could be useful if you only need it for an annual holiday.

I have Thule aero bars and one of the hard roofboxes. Can't fault them, although there's a couple of stress cracks in the lid of the roofbox from shutting hard onto sticky-up things
Top tip is to make sure you can open the boot without it hitting the back of the roofbox, although yours looks quite short, so probably not an issue. The guy at roofbox.co.uk that sold me mine (I went to have a look) said "Get the big one". He said the number of people that come back to get a bigger box later would surprise anyone.
