Curious on what other owners have experienced for a lead time of their vehicles built out of the San Luis Potosi Mexico Plant. How many weeks from production start date to delivery?

Wow! Seven weeks is fast. Seven weeks for mine should have been at dealership on 12/2. I'm 8 weeks now from production start and no signs of any change.

Placed order on 9/19.

Vehicle arrived at dealership on 11/15. I also think they held it up so that it would arrive near the delivery date. My vehicle sat at the port in Mexico for about 2 to 3 weeks.

Ordered 20th July still waiting ….. now looking like 12th March delivery, that’s got to be a record!!!

Mine went into production late Sept, still haven't received the car.

We placed the order on 9/23, was "Scheduled for Production" for over a month, went to "Starting Production 11/28 for a week, and finally switched to "Awaiting Shipment" 12/9! CA told me 12/23 delivery but I actually hope it's not until after 12/28 since we'll be out of town for the holidays. I CAN'T WAIT!!

They had 3 allocations when I went in. 1 dealer ordered that was to far ahead to edit. Then 2 that could be changed. I grabbed one of those and the second one was gone a day or two later.

Congratulations on your vehicle making it through so fast and you have a delivery date. I'm wondering if the build specification on my vehicle is causing the delays. I see multiple car owners getting theirs sooner.

Anyone know how long it takes for G42 M240 from order status 150( production started) to delivery, I am on the east coast. And I know these cars come from Mexico, some people say they ship it on a truck and some say they still use boats (which is dumb imo) anyone know which mode of transportation they use?

Your car will be shipped out of the San Luis Potosi plant to the port that is on your paperwork for your car on a boat.

How would you feel if I told you I ordered on 12th Jan 2023 and the car will be here mid Feb? I asked them to hold on to it until 1st March for delivery.

just before Xmas I had several dealers say 9 to 12 months for delivery but in the same breath, 2 had offered “cancelled slots” with delivery around 3 months later. (Same happened with my previous 4 series order). I settled on a car that came up on the new car search on the BMW website. It was just as i would have spec’d but with the 50 year badges and M tech pack.

I’d imagine shipping 1000s of vehicles together, (there won’t just be BMWs being moved around with a single final destination), will be much cheaper than driving ~10 at a time on a truck.
