Anyone know the details on the M Performance brake upgrade? I saw a youtube video with the catalog, and it was 18in rotors in the front and 17in in the rear. That is massive!

Does anyone know the pricing, and if its a caliper upgrade or just a larger rotor? I was reading older threads how in years past this was a caliper upgrade to brembos.

I doubt those numbers...I'm guessing 14" up front 13" in the back. 19" rims would never fit over 18" rotors. I would like to know official numbers too, though.

BMW offers 340mm and 370mm rotors for M Sport packages.

That's 13.5" and 14.75" (ish) respectively. I'm going to say the G42 brakes are 340mm for M Sport packages.

My guess is that those brakes are for 18" wheels.

That is a very misleading utube, they call it a 18 inch front and 17 inch rear "brake system". Well yer gonna need at least 24 inch wheel on that front to fit over a 18 inch rotor plus caliper. They obviously are referring to minimum Wheel size for those brakes. But i never had heard of a brake system described by wheel size rather they are always by rotor size. Some folks should never be trying to sell something that they are totally clueless about. Now if that is how BMW is describing those systems, well they also need some different personnel. That is clueless.

Correct - the BMW M Performance Brake Kit for the G42 (part # 34-11-2-450-161) is for vehicles equipped with at least 18" rims.

A YouTuber, "Sarah -n- Tune," said she measured the M Sport brakes as 355mm (14"). That may be true, but I am skeptical. She said she measured the rears as the same 355mm, though she did say she was not certain of her rear measurement.

I suppose it is possible the fronts are 355 though...hmmmm?

PS: For those interested in the 230 M Sport, she does a review of that trim...not a bad video at all.

BMW has a whole bunch of brake system/rotor sizes, it varies by year model, package etc. I've seen 348/345, 340/345, 370/345, 374/345.
The "M Sport" tag is used generally across the board and can reference various brake sizes and mean different things ie, trim option etc. I'm suspecting those rotor sizes may also change relative to euro or NA models as well.

I have not seen anything definitive on the 2022 M240i yet. Most common one I've seen referenced is 340f and 345r for this M240i x drive. (non ZTR) What is strange i've seen it repeatedly referenced that way with a SMALLER front rotor than rear??? I've never seen that before. Anyone got any idea why, or is that a typo error that gets repeated?

Good info. On the "reversed" rotor size, I am betting on a typo, but could it be to capitalize on the larger rear tire? I'd still think that's a mistake if they did do that. Hell, a 911 has larger rotors in the front.

In the end, I'm just curious about the rotor size and don't really care because those M Sport brakes are bigger, better and beautiful...and that's good enough for me.
