Should I charge my iX3 to 100% at home via the BMW wallbox(AC charging)

Just wondering if it is okay to charged to 100% at home using the AC wallbox. Understand that the recommendation for DC charging is to 80% as the remaining 20% will take a long time. However, there is no charging time issue at home and not sure if charging to 100% at home will cause any harm to the battery.

Appreciate advice!

My understanding is that charging to 100% regularly will shorten the life of the battery. However, we are probably talking about a shortening of the life 8 years in the future; it isn't going to be a problem in the lifetime that most people keep the vehicle.

Most of my journeys are fairly short, but charging to 100% means I only need to charge once a week. So I will continue charging to 100%.

Agree with the above and to add, I would certainly charge to 100% if you are using the car regularly however if it’s going to sit unused up to a week and over then charge to 80%

100% is fine if regularly used, wouldn't leave it at 100% for extended periods though.

There is no issue with charging to 100%, and if the software is the same as the i3 (no idea as BMW haven't said) your battery could benefit from leaving it plugged in at 100%...
The only thing that could be a problem is leaving it at 100% for a time without using it.

Thanks all for the great advices. As in the current covid situation and I am working from home most of the time, maybe I will only do the 100% before weekend and leave the car at 80% for the rest of the week!

Happy new year to all!
