Driver profile issue

Finally got the car. I do struggle though with the Profile. I can't get it to work. Whenever I remove and add it again it doesn't recognise me when I return to the vehicle. Linkage with the actual key is ticked but whenever I return back in the car it says key is not find if I select my profile from the screen. I also linked it with my iPhone digital key and placed the phone to the tray.

When I first set it up I tried to login with both the app or my username/pass.
Regardless of all combinations when I go away and return back it doesn't recognise me and it doesn't accept selecting my profile manually unless I set a pin code. Any suggestions?

Does you BMW ID work ok in the app? Can you see your car?
When you enter the car, what is the default profile its loading (guest?)

Did your profile work ok in your 3 series?

Yes I can see the car in the app. When I enter the car it shows me the screen to select a profile.

Can you make a screenshot? Normally it defaults on a profile, it will say 'Hello XXXX'

Same issue here. Currently now not even able to get out of the guest profile. Even clicking on my own user profile and acknowledging by OK to switch over it goes back to the guest profile without having the opportunity to provide the pincode i.e.

Try get in touch with the dealer, after all that's why you pay dealer rates for this sort of thing. They should be able to reset the system and get you all logged in and linked up, my dealer offered to do it for me when I picked it up, but had already logged in by the time he offered 😊

I don't trust those guys. I already did reset the iDrive to factory settings. It took 3 days for all the apps to come back.. are they able to do anything different?

actually picked-up the car 31-12 and walked trough the set-up program with the dealer. Driving out all worked... for the first and only time..

Indeed need to get back to the dealer probably... thnx.

Well there's a surprise 🤣

All I can say is, reset the profile, reset the app (delete the car), log back into the app and use your VIN to register the car to it, it should pop up in the car to press select to accept the car. So the car is registered with the app, then use the app to sign into the car and create a driver profile (Show a QR code on the screen) once signed in add your key (make sure only one key in the car). Then once that's done, get the second key and pair your phone with the car so you have the digital key.

How I did mine at the dealer, only took a couple of minutes.

Oh have to swipe the car to the side in the app to delete it btw

Thanks. I will try it tomorrow and maybe even record the attempt. Will let you know how that will go.
Didn't work. Steps followed were:

1)Delete all profiles.
2)Delete car from my BMW but also talk with the BMW connecteddrive agent to remove it from their end and waited for 2 hours until they confirmed it was gone from my account.
3)Added the car again from the web as according to the BMW "Genius" is recommended rather than using the app.
4)After an hour the car was successfully added I created my profile scanning the QR code from the app. I deselected all the options to sync or copy data and I only ticked the box to link the only key that was in the car.

Very odd... Perhaps an issue with your account at bmw end? Tried setting an complete new account up at bmw connect and see if that helps?

I'll be honest was a doddle for me as was coming from previous BMW, I just added the iX3 scanned the qr, and done, picvture and everything came down straight away, even my radio settings etc got pulled down.

Visited the dealer yesterday. Went over with their specialist all the scenarios and tricks they had in store With ultimately no results. It loses connection with the key. They have now passed it on to BMW NL Service.... fingers crossed

Having exactly the same issue, seems to remember my profile if I lock/ unlock the car after a very short period but anything longer than about a minute it defaults to the guest profile.

My advice from BMW was to delete the guest profile but I don't think this is possible.

It must been a wider issue then. As long is reported to dealers then a fix will be investigated.
