Couple of E9x 318i N43 questions ... CDV / MPG

Hi all,

Quite new to the forum so have a couple of questions to ask around my 318i N43 touring. Apologies if asked before.

First one is around the CDV, the car was in for some work this week and I asked them to remove this for me. They've said it hasn't got one. Haven't had time to check but they have no reason to lie. Would this be the case that a 2010 LCI 318 wouldn't have one or is it the case some one has already removed it. Wanted to get rid of the slight judder I get pulling away at slow speeds.

Second one is around MPG, when I first got the car it was really bad so I serviced it and changed the coils. I also clean the vanos solenoid's regularly as well as the crank sensors. And all the sticky brakes were replaced with new.
I'm still not convinced its as good as it could / should be reading what some people say they get.
Mixed driving gives me an average MPG of any where between 34 - 38mpg and I tend to get between 400 - 450 from a full tank. Ive seen some people say 600 from a tank.
I have no warnings but was thinking about changing the thermostat, 02 sensors and air mass ..... what are your thoughts or / and could this be a Nox sensor getting ready to give up .... or is this sort of mpg ok.

Your miles per tank is in the ball park. Urban/mix anywhere between 400-520 and 600 comes from pure motorway run without kicking the arse out of it… so a constant/smooth 80 max.

Trouble is, that if I do a constant 70 / 80 i get no where near that 600. Only way I can get any where near that is to sit around 60mph ....

I've seen people with 318i's saying they see a average 46mpg mixed, yet I can only manage 34 - 38 ish

We've got a 1 series with N43, 6 speed manual. At motorway speeds its like it needs another gear (or two). Drinks fuel at 3k rpm.
