Shortcut for Drive Recorder

Is there a way to set a shortcut/gesture/hot-key for the Drive Recorder to record?

Witnessed an Audi S4 go through red lights along-side me at about 40 mph and narrowly avoid a major T-bone, didn't even slow down, can only assume were on the run! I tried to capture it with the drive recorder but by the time I'd reacted, got out of CarPlay, into the apps menu, scrolled to the Drive Recorder app and clicked record I'd missed the event by a few seconds (even with the 20 seconds pre-roll).

Seems for this to be useful you either needs the app open all the time or have a shortcut.

Effing Audi drivers. Although not what I used to say when I drove an Audi until I got the iX3...

Press and hold the button. It saves the recording from all four cameras for a period before and after your press.

The Drive Recorder button alongside the gear lever. It is the one adjacent to the Park Assist button.

Me too...

Tried it yesterday. There is a delay between the time I pressed and the function showing up on the displayed but the recording had no delay. Could have been because the back-up display was still up when I tried it.
