have people taken delivery of M240i without touchscreens?
how big of a deal has it been for people who's cars have come without touchscreens?
if your car is still on order, what will your reaction be if when you see your car for the first time and it doesn't have a touch screen? and lastly what about potential resale value, in a few years will cars without the touchscreen be at a significant disadvantage. I'm not sure how strongly i feel, I've never tried an i-drive system, so i don't know how it's like using the control wheel.. but as i think about it.. there's a decent chance.. i take my deposit back and just wait for this all to blow over. i'm hoping when i first see it.. nothing it's missing will matter. |

Placed my Order 1/15, was allocated and scheduled for production 1/15, production to be 6th week. There has been no removal of the touch screen. If this was to occur, my understanding it would have been presented at the allocation. I had asked the dealer about this specifically, they said if there was a removal of a feature, it would have come up during allocation and they would have to get my approval to continue. They also said there has not been any touch screen issues on the M240i, they had not been effected.

a touchscreen is a standard feature... you shouldn't have to look for it, but when you look at the BMW online config tool for standard features, there's an asterisk and note saying some late 2021 models won't have a touch screen..
but as someone mentioned above, if you have an accepted allocation order, and it wasn't mentioned.. we're thinking you're ok |

The loss of touch screens affected the X models primarily (3, 4, 5, 6 and 7) and some other models built in Europe based on what I read across other forum pages.
As far as I know, the G42 hasn't been affected thus far (fortunately). |

I'm sure not having a touch screen would be really inconvenient, especially for a car at this price-point, but after having my car for only a week, I haven't seen any feature that can't be accessed with the Controller. Not to say it's equivalent, but I'm sure after awhile, nobody would notice their car is lacking this feature.

I have touchscreen on my 2018 340i and I can count on 1 hand the number of times I've used it. I do use the touchscreen on my wife X5 since it has Carplay.

Got a touch screen on my M140i, always use the idrive controller or voice input. Don't like fingerprints or smudges, so never use it.

For my order which is slated for March, the factory immediate indicated that the touch pad on the iDrive controller would be missing. This the pad on top of the iDrive controller that allows you to write letters with your finger for input. That is preferable to losing the touch screen as it becomes hard to navigate Android Auto or Apple Carplay without touch. You can still do it but I'm not sure if how the controller navigates everything.

As previously stated here, touchscreen hasn't been removed from the 2 series. The touch controller wheel for the idrive system is slated for removal for all new 2's built on/after week 5.. imo, if you have the touchscreen, and the wheel, I don't think losing the wheel touch feature is that bad.

Mine was built in late November and does not have any touch feature on the iDrive wheel. I'm not sure what that would even be used for.
The touch screen is important for CarPlay. It would be tedious operating it with the wheel |

Instead of using the wheel to select letters for addresses, you can write the letters with ur finger to spell the address.
