Modified eco / sport button LEDs

Thanks to WillLowe for the inspo and help on this one.

I saw he had done it on another post so attempted it myself. Definitely not the faint hearted if you're not confident at soldering.

You'll need blue and red 0805's to replace the old LEDs with and they're only around 20p each, I ended up ordering mine last night through RS Components because they offer next day delivery til something crazy like 8 or 10pm.. and I'm super inpatient lol.

And just for reference.. this is how small the LEDs really are

Thanks
I used 497-4804 and 691-0442.

But any 0805 around 2V will be enough.

Glad you got sorted. I'm surprised this wasn't how they came from the factory

Nice job! I noticed in your picture that you have the knee rest piece, which is also in M3 models. Where did you get that?

You buy the entire console top trim piece from an m3. It’s not an add on.

I wound up getting a full m3 center console from a dismantler to get the top and the merino leather sliding armrest for $200 instead of either one for about the same individually, then just transferred them over to my existing console. Just an idea that might save you money too.

MTech front bumper, MSport wheel & handbrake, 4AD trim, full rear shades, more to come…

Pretty much this.. I found the top half on eBay for about £100 but they're pretty hard to come by.

I wouldn't buy it for the comfort though, you have to have weirdly proportionate knees/legs to reach it, even then the cushion is rock hard lol (it's leather on top of plastic)

It will soften up if you properly condition the leather, mine did. Took several applications though. And I have long legs and arms so I’ve always sat Italian style (knees up, seat tilted/reclining semi f1 style) so it comes in handy to rest my leg against especially on trips.
