Yes, B&W is dead in the water due to the chip shortage. Rumor is a new design to get around that but if that comes to fruition I'll need to test the result vs keeping my 2020 with original B&W sound.

Yes, the first two are available for M8 except for B&W unfortunately. You can go with Alpina B8 and get B&W as an option.

Is the HK in the M8 at least better than the HK in my M4?

Hk works great really.

For those relying on Sirius XM radio the sound from regular audio input from streaming or standard radio is dramatically better that Sirius.

Having had the B&W in both our X7 M50i and old 21 X6m Comp the only thing that's gained with it is a stylish touch in my opinion.

I'm not unhappy with the HK in my M4, but I was looking forward to the B&W. I'm mostly radio and Spotify. No Sirius as the bit rate is so low.

There aren't really any significant improvements unless you want the larger screen. Check out the thread about the 23. If I was paint booth far into a 22 order I'm not sure I could talk myself into waiting who knows how long to get minimal improvements for a 23.

Second this. HK isn't horrible in the 8. Although it can depend on what series you have imo when it comes to say the 3 series or 4 series. At least we have the HK option unlike the X5 I'm trying to acquire. Only option is Hi-fi

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying about depending on what series you have it in? Are you saying the HK is different in the 8 as compared to the 3 or 4?

They also seem to have a ton of individual colors for free????

Their configurator also looks like it shows the older smaller idrive screen.

Yes. Cabin space/construction, acoustic can make a system sound different in general. No different for BMW across series.

Having owned a G20 3 series with HK, it does sound a bit better in the G15, but it's exactly the same 464W system.

I think I posted this on another thread, but the B&W (whilst better than the HK of course) isn't worth the circa £4k cost of upgrade. Once taken the time to run in and get the equaliser setup properly the HK is pretty decent, so I wouldn't be disappointed.

Sorry, but that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I'm paying $140,000 for a car. There's nothing pretentious about wanting the best soundsystem with it aside from the sound system of the V8, active sound design not included in that thought.

Bigger screen doesn't look right to me. It doesn't look good in M5 either. Dash wasn't designed to accommodate this screen and it shows.
