Drive Recorder Download

I know you can only have it if you have the parking assistance package, which I do, but does anyone know if the drive recorder can be added to my vehicle via downloading the app in my idrive or a software update? I'm expecting my car soon and didn't add it to the build originally.

I'm fairly certain you can buy it in the connecteddrive store. I had it on my build so I haven't tested this but I'm fairly certain it's available as a download. You just buy it on the web site.

I believe you can via bmw connected app.

Go to bmw website.
Your garage
Select the vehicle
Scroll down to connected app store
And I think you can purchase it.
I have it so shows up pre-purchased but the pdf about drive recorder said you can do that. I attached the pdf

Just did that last night.

Currently shows for me the only option of "$0.00 for 1 month", so don't know what the tiers will actually be once the trial ends.

I believe that it does but the 36 month subscription comes out to $100 which is what it costs to add the drive recorder to the build so I would assume that if you added it, you will receive 36 months included before you'd need to re-up. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I bought the car with the option and I just checked. Good as long as possible

I only have my com# so I can't see all of that but it looks good. hopefully I will be able to see all of my options soon.

Anyone should be able to buy the remote start. You can get the drive recorder as long as you have the parking package. IIRC the prices are slightly higher than if you optioned it on the car (like $25 or so).
