My Superman Combo was finally delivered!

Traded in my 2021 X5 X-Drive 40i for something a little more exhilarating. Having owned many BMWs and 3 B58s in the past, this is by far the most phenomenal example. It is so well rounded and ready for however you want to drive it. Last pic was after tint and ceramic coating, which really made the Portimao Blue pop.

Great choice! Pictures don't do it justice. Yes I did option the ACC, works great so far. Coming from my X5 which had Driving Assistance Professional, it works the same way minus the steering assist. Very smooth in its acceleration and braking.

Whoa. This was my other choice of color from the thundernight. This looks great though man! What a combo! Of course coming from another superman fan

How did you get the ACC? Is it by having the dealer add the 5DF?

It was 5DF when I placed order 12/3, seems dealers are unable to add it now, and it took some pushing for me to eventually lock it in.

Looks great, but do folks here feel Ceramic coating is worth it??

I know it isn't cheap but will it really help the color pop plus protect more than just the factory clearcoat? Picking up my car Saturday so have to decide.. thanks

The blue portimao brights A LOT even without the coating... so does the coating really make it pop *even more* ? (serious question).

I ordered my car back when it was still an option on the build website, so I had no issues getting it on my build luckily.

Definitely makes the color have more depth, easier to clean including bugs, protects the clear coat, and also eliminates the mild swirls you might see on the blue paint due to it being a darker color.

Portimao blue is a truly amazing color and you have to see it in person to appreciate it. But yes the ceramic coating really did make the color have more depth and pop more. Really depends on the ceramic coating you use, I have experience with car detailing so I used the chemical guys kit and applied it on my own and super happy with the results.

@gmaine340i I know this thread is older and all, but would you mind posting more pics of you blue and red combo?? I'm on the fence between ordering Tacora or Black with blue stitching and can't decide!

For sure! I will take a few more pics in the light tomorrow. Here is the best one I have for now. Super happy with the Tacora…it's a great shade of red and really not in your face.
