used 535d or new 330d
I am really torn between two cars both costing £30K. One is a brand new 330d saloon, the other is a year old 535d msport with 5,000 miles. I really wanted the new 3er LCI Coupe but have to wait at least a year for that.
If I keep it for the next 12 months to 18 months do you guys reckon I will lose more money on the 3 series than the used 5? Remember the 535d new price before discount was £48K, now on sale at £30K. take a look at this... http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/auc/car_d...NX92000CZ06597 |

Mate whats LCI??
Also, Mate id pick up an older 535d if your only keeping it a year or so.. get an 06-56 535d and you could get a bargain mate. You will lose more on the brand new 330d for sure.

my dad has the same car but in a 530d same age too same colour and alloys, alloys are 19's and non runflat which makes it a great motorway car very quiet,i have never been in a 6 series but i would say they are the same match for comfort, and the bonus is, its has lossed some of it value, remember its going to blow some more but not as quick we all hope

Why do you say get an 06-56, those cars are before the LCI mid-life facelift, the cars from 07 have the better interior. |

Because your only keeping it for a short time, why pay more and also LOOSE more on a car that your only keeping for a short while. Unless the facelift bits are really what your after on this car.

535d will be worth around £20k trade in and the 330d about £16k trade in. As Carlos says, if you are buying as a stop gap then pick up one of the £15k 2005 535d's and sell it in 12 months for £11-12k. Friend of mine just bought an 05 plate 535d sport with all the toys including HUD, with 39k miles on it and paid £15400 which is an absolute steal imho. |

My old mans was 50k new (may 05) and when it was car jacked a year later (june06) he got 38 for it. SO just shows you back then the market was alot less volatile.
