Halo light issue
I'm getting an odd issue with my stock halogen halos.
They keep turning off with an accompanying warning light. I replaced the bulb for a painful $75 only to have it not solve the problem. So, here are the facts: - Both lights are not working; right and left. - Neither respond to a bulb replacement. - Sometimes they will randomly work. - Sometimes one, sometimes both. - All related fuses are in good shape. Mostly, this is just highly annoying bc of the warning light on the nav and the accompanying bing/bong noises. Going out of my mind over here... Can't seem to find any other similar issues for other people. Any tips? many thanks! |

$75!? Was that dealership price? Or was that both sides?
All I’ve got are generic suggestions, like checking your wiring to make sure there are no issues. Pull out the multimeter and check voltage and ground. See if wiggling any wires around changes things. PI don’t have time to look at wiring diagrams this moment but I’ll try to take a look at some today. I’ve now had both a bad FRM module and a bad DSC module, which has taught me to not discount that possibility when dealing with hard-to-explain issues. When I say “bad,” I don’t mean outright failure, I mean strange gremlins. If you have an extra FRM module on hand I’d personally swap it in just to see. Otherwise, for the sake of your sanity I’d code out bulb checks for the halos for the time being while you diagnose and fix the issue .
