Roof Wrap - *pics*

Putting the finishing touches on the E90 before I donate it to the great-nephew. Wrapped the roof today in 3M 2080 satin black vinyl. It was faded and etched badly - looks brand new now. Fresh window trim going in as soon as I can go pick it up. Shark fin going back on as soon as the 3M tape sheet I ordered comes in.

Came out better than expected for my first try on the exterior. I can't say it was easy tho Probably better if you have a helper *who listens*.

I made a few mistakes:
  1. I did not have the right tools. It's important to have a professional wrapping squeegee. I made due with what I had and it scratched the vinyl a bit. Also important to spray the vinyl with water before you drag any tool across it.
  2. I had the shark fin hole covered with painter's tape for the alcohol prep, and forgot to remove it What a bitch getting the vinyl back up to remove that tape, then getting the vinyl to settle back down again.
  3. I forgot to open the sunroof That was a disaster but I recovered ok. It's the one place you can see flaws when the sunroof is open.
Pretty happy with the result tho.

I had some material left over, so I also wrapped the spoiler....

Looking great though you are not professional, you did it very well.
I admit wrapping is not easy , it was like mission impossible for me when I started interior wrapping for my X3. Especially those curve and edges made me sweat.
