How to track build?
Hi all,
I just ordered my M240I and. I was wondering how I would go about finding my production schedule date. I registered on my bmw and. I can see my car has been scheduled for production but it doesn’t show the date. Is there somewhere else I can go to find this out? Tank you so much!! |

My experience with bmw genius is a joke. They have told me several different stories. Not sure who to believe. In the my bmw app I have been stuck in production begins for 3 weeks and counting. Genius tells me production has begun and my car will finish production today 2-25, then they tell me it will begin producing my car on 2-25 reason for delay issues of parts not available. Then they tell me the app doesn't get updated sometimes. Good luck and I will post as time goes on. Everyone is different here.

yes... if there's an an actual allocation. When the dealer sells you an allocated car, they know the presently scheduled build week, and as soon as the order is placed you get a 7 digit production number, that you can use to add the car to your "garage" on the bmw site.
if they don't give you a production number, what you've purchased is the hope of getting one someday, when the dealer gets an allocation |

I was sold an allocated car on Feb 2 and received a production number two days later. I tried for nearly 3 weeks calling the genius as to my build week. I finally was told that my actual build would begin the week of February 20-26. Yesterday I called and they now have my build week scheduled for week 14, approximately 10 weeks after I bought the car. So much for purchasing an allocated car! Now it looks like I'm probably not going to receive delivery until late June or July. I don't like buying a vehicle this late in the production year. If the new 2023 models become available for purchase in September, my month or two old vehicle is considered a year old. Perhaps I'm wrong in my thinking here, but it always was that way with domestically produced vehicles. If I'm not wrong, perhaps I'd be better off just waiting for the 2023 model year production to begin. Thoughts?

If the same exact car was tk be released for 2023, i would believe many of us would wait.
I would be fine with idrive 8 and curved screen if it gives me ACC, WC and all the bells an whistles. |
