Do I have the right part?

Hello All. Replacing the front strut mounts on my 2006 330i with the sport package. I was just about to install the new mounts when I noticed that there is about a 5/16" difference in increased height vs the old one. I can't tell if my old one was damaged or if I ordered the wrong new part?

New part number is: 31 33 6 769 582 from Lemforder (OE part)
Old part number is :3133 6767451 which is a genuine BMW number

There appears to be 2 options on ECS TUNING and FCPEURO but for the life of me I cannot tell the difference. 31336760943 and 31306775098 are the part numbers for genuine BMW parts but Lemforder (which I bought) only has one part that appears to service all suspension types and years? I presumed one was for the sport and one non-sport suspension but it doesn't seem clear to me.

A little bit confused here. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

What’s the build date of your car or the last 7 digits of your VIN?

At first glance the mount in the right looks collapsed, but I can look into the part numbers once I know more about your car.

Hey thanks for the reply. Build date of my car is June 2005. That was my initial thought but wanted to confirm. Thanks again.

I see what you’re saying… Lemforder 2700101 cross-references to both the regular and sport/M Sport suspension, but there are two different Genuine BMW mounts. Looks like the sport mount is on clearance though.

I wouldn’t worry too much. There’s plenty of travel in that strut, so even if there is a slight difference between your old one and new one (when new) you’ll be fine.

As suggested, I wouldn't worry too much because it simply looks like the older part had collapsed. You may notice a little higher ride height but the ride should improve.

Thanks guys. Yeah I couldn't seem to find any obvious difference either. I think the old mount has collapsed like you mentioned. I just didn't want my ride height to increase because I used the incorrect part. Thanks again.
