Pre LCI radio to LCI radio

Hi everyone,

I've been searching the forums for the past couple of days with a lot of mixed results. Is it possible to upgrade from 12/06 build date professional radio with bluetooth to a 2011 professional radio with bluetooth?

Is it possible to get HD radio and the new LCI style gong. I have the older gong for when my doors open but the newer one when using my rear PDC currently

Thanks

I installed a professional radio from a 2011 car into my 2006 330i, without issue. Just make sure you get one with the same connectors as your original. For example, my car has Logic 7, so I needed to get a radio with the fiber optic connector.

Cheers!

Yes. I also coded a different ringer sound for phone calls.

Cheers!

Does this mean I could get an 06 radio in place of my 2009? I absolutely hate the stupid gong. My friend has an 06 which has a more pleasant ding.

LCI radios work fine in Pre-lci. But coding may be needed. At the same time did a MULF retrofit to get USB and then used a tune 2 air to add BT audio. MULF2 HI also has BT phone (if enabled with coding) so you can get rid of the TCU.

What did you have to do to enable HD radio?
